I love animals of all kinds. When I was a child, I would watch the show Mutual Of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and tell myself “yup that’s what I want to do when I grow up – hang out with animals!” Of course, I also wanted to be a fireman and a truck driver like my dad was when I was a child. I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats throughout my life and have come to find I’m a cat person. Nothing against dogs – I just prefer the company of cats and they just seem cooler to me.
This week May 5-11 is Be Kind To Animals Week. (Also known as Pet Week.) I’ve read pets can do a lot for their owner. Like when you have a bad day, pets can make you feel like a million bucks. They also help relieve stress and tension, and lower blood pressure.
So, if you’re looking for a pet, check out the Helping Hands Humane Society and give a pet a new happy home and remember this week is Be Kind To Animals Week (also known as Pet Week)!!
