Multi-talented and multi-platinum recording artist Hunter Hayes is entering a new dimension with the fresh music video for his current single, “Tattoo,” which premiered worldwide yesterday, July 28. Directed by Kristen Barlowe, the street-art-inspired piece brings “Tattoo” to life with animated graphics, graffiti art and of course, a beautiful brunette who plays the muse to Hayes’ energetic performance.
“With a song like ‘Tattoo,’ it’s a very visual thing,” Hayes told PEOPLE Country. “Lyrically, the goal is to bring you to a place where all these artistic elements of inspiration come to life around you. So, for the video, rather than just explain how a relationship can inspire you, we wanted to go beyond the expected and make a musically inspired moment jump out of a two-dimensional space.”
Written by Hayes and fellow Nashville songsmiths Barry Dean and Troy Verges, “Tattoo” is the second single off of Hayes’ chart-topping sophomore album, Storyline. Previous hits for the four-time GRAMMY nominee include the consecutive No. 1 smashes “Wanted,” “Somebody’s Heartbreak” and “I Want Crazy,” as well as Storyline’s moving lead single, “Invisible.”
Hayes just completed the international leg of his promotional tour for Storyline and is currently headlining dates across the U.S. and Canada.
