Lights, camera, action! Miranda Lambert is reportedly dipping her toes into acting, once again.
According to Deadline, the singer is working with Trey Fanjoy, known for such music videos as “Somethin’ Bad” and “The House That Built Me,” on the new film. Fanjoy is set to direct, while Lambert, Fanjoy and screenwriter Cindy McCreery wrote the script. The film is said to be a mix of Bridesmaids and Steel Magnolias.
“With over a dozen award-winning collaborations with Miranda, I’ve no doubt Trey’s transition into features will be equally successful,” said Lambert’s manager Marion Kraft of Shopkeeper Management.
Currently titled Something In The Water, the comedy casts Lambert as one of five women who challenge their mates to a bass-fishing tournament. Sony Nashville confirmed the news to Rolling Stone Country, saying the project is in the “early stages of development.”
The film wouldn’t be Lambert’s first time testing out her acting chops. In 2012, she had a guest role on “Law & Order: SVU.”
