Replacing Bad Words

Replacing Bad Words

We are all taught as children not to say “bad words.” But what happens when you become parents? What do you do when one tries to slip out?

I have a few friends who have children and they say their workaround to this dilemma is to create words to replace the “bad words.” One example I was given is “Firetruck.” A few others are “cheese and rice”, “son of a biscuit” and “dang nabbit.” Pretty creative friends! And what a great way to keep your child’s innocence in tact and keeping them from picking up words they really shouldn’t be saying from you!
