Bear Cubs Now Visible
Published: April 22, 2026
Animal care staff recently introduced the cubs to the larger outdoor space, where they can be seen playing and exhibiting natural behaviors. Access to the main yard varies, as the cubs continue to be supervised by staff for safety, and there is no set public viewing schedule.

“Taz and Kiona are wonderful additions to the Zoo. We are so excited they are finally big enough to be introduced to the community,” said Shanna Simpson, animal curator. “Seeing them explore a larger space and interact with their environment is an important part of their development, and it’s incredibly rewarding for our team.”

The Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m.
