2024 Golden Horseshoe Toss

Contest Rules

  1. Three contestants are chosen by random drawing from entries collected on the evening of the contest.
  2. Contestants must be 18 years of age or older.
  3. Each contestant will have one opportunity to toss the golden horseshoe at the “stake” place 37 feet from the foul line.  Any contestant crossing the foul line while making their toss will be disqualified.
  4. The winner will be declared by the contestant who’s toss comes closest to the stake.
  5. All toss distances will be determined by the measurement from the front of the stake to the front of the horseshoe.
  6. To be declared a ringer the shoe must completely encircle the stake so the ends can be touched with a straight-edge without touching the stake.
  7. If two, or all three contestants tie for distance, each contestant, in the tie, will be given another toss to determine a winner based on distance from the stake.
  8. Ringers are considered as a full toss and not measured in distance.  In the case of two or three ringers, they will constitute a tie and the contest continues with each contestant being given another toss.
  9. The contest ends when one contestant has the toss determined to be closest to the stake with no ties. That contestant is declared the winner.
  10. All rulings and determinations by the judges are final.
  11. The winner will be awarded with a check in the amount of $1,200.  This check will be sent to the winner after it has been processed by Alpha Media, llc Corporate offices.
